Cookie Policy

Last updated 22 July 2026

In short. We use one strictly necessary cookie, to remember your answer to the cookie banner. We set no analytics or advertising cookies, and nothing optional runs unless you switch it on.

1. What this covers

This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on invigil.co, operated by Invigil Ltd. It sits alongside our Privacy Notice.

“Cookies” are small files a site asks your browser to store. Related technologies - localStorage, session storage and similar - do much the same job without being cookies in the strict sense. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) treats them alike, so we describe both here.

2. What we actually store

Two things, both first party, both created only in response to something you did:

NameTypePurposeExpires
invigil_consent Cookie, first party, strictly necessary Records your answer to the cookie banner, so we honour your choice and stop asking. Holds only your decision - for example necessary or necessary, analytics - and the date you made it. It contains no identifier and is not used to recognise you. 12 months
invigil-theme localStorage, first party Remembers whether you chose the light or dark version of the site. Written only when you use the theme switch, and never sent to our servers. Until you clear your browser storage

Both are strictly necessary in the sense the law uses: they exist purely to deliver a preference you asked for. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, that kind of storage does not itself require consent - which is why the consent cookie can be set when you answer the banner. You can remove either at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

3. What we do not use

To be unambiguous, this website runs none of the following:

The banner offers an optional analytics category, but no analytics are installed at present, so choosing to allow it currently enables nothing. It is there so that if we do add measurement later, it cannot run until you have agreed - and your answer is already on record. If that changes, we will update this page and ask again before anything new runs.

4. Third-party services the site loads

Two external services are used to deliver the page. Neither sets cookies, but both necessarily receive your IP address as part of any web request:

ServiceUsed forCookies set
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) The typefaces used across the site.None
jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) The animation library used for scroll effects.None

The interactive product demonstration on our home page runs entirely in your browser against fixed sample data. It contacts no server, stores nothing, and anything you type into it is discarded when you leave the page.

5. Managing your preferences

You can reopen the cookie banner at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser settings - aboutcookies.org explains how for each major browser. Since we set no cookies, blocking them will not affect how this site works; clearing local storage will simply reset your theme choice.

6. Changes

If we introduce any new cookie or storage technology, we will update this page and the banner before it runs.
